Meet Riley & The Gilmores

Our daughter, Riley (aka Riley Bear), was born on May 6, 2020, and lived for 117 beautiful days with Trisomy 13.

Riley brought so much hope to people near and far, reminding us to slow down and appreciate the little things. Despite her health challenges, she would sneak in the sweetest smiles—especially when feeling the fresh air, hearing music she loved (Taylor Swift was a favorite), or snuggling close with us. She adored her unicorn pacifier, and we made sure she was surrounded by comfort and love every step of the way. One of our most cherished memories was taking her to our family cabin in the mountains, where she could experience the peace and beauty of nature. It was just one of the many ways we made the most of our time together, giving her a taste of our favorite things in life.

We remember Riley through the things that bring joy and light into the world—especially sunflowers. They turn their faces to the sun and seem to smile, just like Riley did. Her life taught us the true meaning of unconditional love and proved that you don’t need a certain number of days to make a lasting impact.
